This fight...the fight for equality, #justice, civil rights, and simple humane treatment...has been a long, tedious, and deadly fight. It is because of the great minds and far-reaching efforts of those such as the man we celebrate today- Dr Martin Luther King, Jr.- that make individuals like myself proud to be a person of color. Specifically, a strong, smart, beautiful, and powerful Black Queen in today's society.
Our society has made some progress, but there is a long race to run. As we continue on this path towards socioeconomic equality and justice for "Negro people and other poor people," let us not forget other #disparities that at-risk #populations experience, such as #education, healthcare, and mere security.
Today is a day like no other-- never before seen. One on which we, as Black leaders, #parents, #students, #stakeholders, etc. can decide to band together going forward, elevating the communities that we represent and are proud of. Fighting this fight together makes us more powerful and further indestructible.
LEND YOUR MIND, YOUR TALENT, AND YOUR VOICE in this ongoing fight for equality, justice, civil rights, and humanity.
